"Well, I'm bored." Mason's dull, low voice broke the silence between trainer and Pok?mon as they walked down the empty street of her old neighborhood. It was one of the few very quaint and quiet places, where she wouldn't be interrupted. Mason was at her home, and she was a home-town hero. The woman couldn't go anywhere without being stopped a few times. It was irritating to say that least, and she found herself enjoying her visits home less and less. Sure, she liked being popular, but it got old sometimes.
Her arcanine was padding beside her, keeping a steady stride. His audits flicked back and forth, just to make sure they were alone. He was a large, hefty canine Pok?mon. Even if he was fluffy, his bulging muscles were still noticeable. Most would think twice before crossing him. Normally he was a gentle giant, but the large male was extremely protective of his trainer. Secretly, he was Mason's favorite Pok?mon. And Mason was his favorite trainer... his only trainer, actually.
The arcanine pressed his muzzle into her back, pushing her forward. Across the street was a boardwalk to a beach. "But you hate the beach! And water in general!" Mason chuckled as he propelled her forward with his mighty force. "A'ight, a'ight... You know I like relaxing there. I promise I won't drag you in." Mason turned around, murmuring quietly while giving him a quick ruffle on his head. The arcanine laid down, making a rumbling noise originating from his chest. Mason hopped up on his back, and he lifted himself from the ground.
The fire-type was like a stout horse, carrying his trainer place to place. His breed was one of the fastest Pok?mon in existence, and Mason made sure he kept up his stamina. He galloped off with her on his back, only a few minutes later did he lay down and roll over, taking her with him. Mason flailed, crawling out from under him and spitting out sand. 'Oaf.' Muttering curses under her breath, she laid down next to him, her head on his chest to keep from getting sand in her hair. The warm sun was relaxing, and she what she had needed.
Mason flicked open an eye briefly. It looked like the coast was clear, quite literally. There were hardly any people around, only people she knew. Old friends that knew not to disturb her. Happy and at peace, she closed her eyes once again, enjoying the sound of her arcanine's deep rumbling.
