Exactly in the middle of town lies a large outdoor courtyard. Upon further inspection, it is actually the Valera Town Bug Gym. The gym leader and his crew are always practicing, and as soon as a challenger shows up, large trees grow around the perimeter of the area. There is no way out once you have challenged. It turns into a forest, and one wrong step around a tree or a bush leads to a trainer battling you.
