apperance;;
Physical traits: Julia is an even 5’0” in height, two inches shorter than her twin sister…something which annoys her to no end. A pinch-nosed, chiselled faced girl, she is not particularly attractive, but she has a regality in her posture and manner that at least makes her appear to be somewhat grand. Her light-brown hair is shoulder length and tightly curled back in on itself; her controlling personality extends to meticulously combing her hair and tying it back so that not even a single strand is out of place. Despite her personality (see below) she has rather warm eyes the colour of emeralds. She is of average weight for a girl her size and age, and like many girls her age, she considers herself to be somewhat undeveloped in the areas where she ought to be filling out, and is highly critical of her figure…although not as much her own as other people’s.
Clothing: Julia’s clothing is quite eye-catching, being both bold and old-fashioned. An outdated white shirt, with frilled cuffs and a laced collar, covers her torso, although it is complemented by an odd tartan short skirt; patterned green, white and red which will immediately draw people’s attention. She also wears stockings, although never of the same colour: normally, one will be patterned with stripes, whilst the other will be chequered. Julia always wears the same shoes, which are a cherry red and are in serious need of some polish.
Other: Julia has no real love of jewellery, although she will occasionally wear earrings – both of her ears have been pierced – that resemble small Fighting Gems, and also has an assorted collection of gold necklaces and rings. To spite her mother she has also had her belly-button pierced, although she will rarely flaunt this openly; after all, it is most unsightly.
personality;; Obnoxious. If asked to summarise Julia in one word, most would choose that one, or something considerably less flattering. Julia is an extremely difficult girl to put up with for longer than a few minutes: self-assured, arrogant and, worse still, of above-average intelligence for a girl her age meaning that is at least partially as good as she thinks she is, she is well and truly in her “teenage rebel” phase, and this extends to everyone and everything. She doesn’t talk to people; she talks at and down to them, and has very little respect for anyone or anything besides herself.
To earn anything other than Julia’s contempt, you have to work for a very long time, and most people would (quite rightly) judge that it wasn’t worth the effort; she is absolutely incapable of conceiving that anyone might possibly be on equal footing with her, and the idea of anyone being above her is a laughable one to her. Unsurprisingly, Julia has absolutely no friends whatsoever, and she doesn’t really see the need for them, although she will occasionally seek out other girls her own age to talk to, although the concept of actually interacting with people in conversation is an alien one to her; much easier for her to talk and them to listen.
Julia sees the people around her and Pokémon as little more than accessories, there when she wants to make herself look better, but otherwise tucked neatly away somewhere out of sight so she doesn’t have to put up with them. This is not a malicious thought, she simply doesn’t see people as equals, or Pokémon as friends; she is entirely self-centred. The world is broadly divided into two categories for Julia: what she likes, and what she doesn’t. If you’re not in the first category – and the number of things that are can be counted on one hand (strong Pokémon, pretty girls with nice hair and, of course, herself) – then you might as well not exist; in fact, it would be preferable if you didn’t, because that would mean she wouldn’t have to put up with you. As far as Julia is concerned, the world was made for her convenience, and everyone else lives in it under her sufferance. She has very little patience for people who go against her ideas, and is unbelievably controlling: her say is the only say that matters, and you should listen to her, not anyone else.
Julia is fiercely competitive; she hates losing, and she takes it very hard if it happens. She even has a notebook dating back three years of all the wrongs committed against her; she is extraordinarily petty, and even the slightest thing, real or imagined, will set her off. Fortunately, Julia considers herself above acts of revenge; after all, to retaliate in such a coarse fashion would mean she would have to lower herself to the other person’s level. However, upsetting her just makes her even more difficult to deal with; Julia has a way of getting under people’s skin with her airy, sarcastic comments, disapproving sniffs, and insufferably self-satisfied mannerisms. That said, Julia immensely enjoys banter, because it happens to be something she is very good at, making it difficult to tell when she is being genuinely insulting or just attempting to get you to bite back…which is likely the idea. She greatly enjoys running circles around people, as that only proves her own superiority over them; in her mind at least.
To say Julia is really a good person underneath that conceited little princess act she has might be being a little too generous: if she really is what people could label as a good person, it is buried somewhere VERY deep down inside her. She is a classic case of a cry for attention, however; really, all she wants is approval and acknowledgement, although she goes entirely the wrong way about getting it. She is quite lonely, although she hasn’t quite realised it yet, being too wrapped up in herself to notice…indeed, that may be why she is entirely self-absorbed; to prevent herself from noticing. Julia grew up feeling unloved and neglected – which, to a certain degree, she was – her behaviour is actually quite understandable in context. Given time, she may decide to grow up although, given that she is only seventeen and still has many years of adolescence ahead of her, it is doubtful that this will happen anytime soon…

history;; Julia was born exactly three minutes and twenty seven seconds after her twin sister, Lilac. Much to her chagrin, as it meant that she had to do absolutely everything her “older” sister said when she was growing up…at least, this is what she believed, and her resentment for her sister only intensified as she got older, despite the other never once asserting her authority, nor her parents or grandparents insisting that she follow her lead.
Julia grew up in a rather interesting environment. Her mother, an unstable and reclusive woman, somehow managed to find love via a dating website, and spent four years dancing around her husband-to-be until he finally tracked her down and proposed. As her mother still lives with her parents, so too does Julia, and their house is not particularly modern, lacking even a central heating system. Her mother’s laptop is the only piece of technology in the house, and given that she is on it for at least eighteen hours a day, Julia had very little contact with technology when growing up, leaving her constantly fascinated by these marvels she frequently encountered, and acutely jealous of those who possess them. Of Pokémon, she showed no interest until her sister began to: her grandparents had a rather old and worn-out Stoutland who did little more than take up space, and was never very exciting.
Julia’s tormented childhood was of her own making, as various stereotypes were imposed upon her. Her spectacular inferiority complex made her quite the bully at school, although it also made her extremely popular: a natural leader through sheer force of will, she quickly attracted a large social circle, and had even her teachers eating out of the palm of her hand. She was practically perfect in every way, and woe betide any who disagreed with her.
Her sister, on the other hand, focused on her studies, and excelled at everything she did, whilst Julia, more the social butterfly, did not. Yet another reason for her to despise her sister, particularly when she was told that she should “be more like Lilac” or something similar. She took this quite literally, although it was in regard to her studies only, and from the age of seven onwards began to dog her sister’s every step, seeking to elicit some sort of reaction from her; any at all, to prove that she wasn’t perfect. Ten years on, she still hasn’t succeeded.
