apperance;; I'd love to say that your first impression would be his snowy, rebellious locks of hair, or perhaps his shockingly teal eyes, or maybe the frosty glare upon his face. But sadly, I'm afraid that would be a lie, for first impressions of Xander are always, always of his height. You see, he's... Ah, how do I say this. Vertically challenged? Standing at apatheticunique height of 4'4", he appears downright childlike. It's a common misconception that he's eight or nine rather than the seventeen that he is, and it's one of the incredibly few things that can set off his temper. If you'd like to keep your head, I'd suggest not mentioning it at all...
But let's say that you miraculously manage not to comment upon his height. A second glance will show you pale skin and surprisingly delicate features. His face is angular, almost pixie-like, and often described as adorable- though only ever behind his back. For despite his innocent appearance, his body is surprisingly muscular, holding a wiry sort of strength. He's built to be agile, a born runner, and it makes him rather formidable when angered.
His fashion sense is nothing remarkable, simple clothes of black and white. There's a certain white leather jacket he's grown quite fond of, but other than that he sticks with jeans and t-shirts, nothing really noteworthy. His appearance stands out as it is, without some ridiculous wardrobe.
personality;; Calm and controlled, very few things ever take Xander by surprise, and when things do start getting out of hand he barely shows it. A raised eyebrow, a soft sound of disbelief, but other than that? Nothing seems to shake him. He rarely lets his anger get the best of him, and though he's prone to getting annoyed (his name and height among the best ways to push his buttons), he never lets emotions affect his decisions. It's helpful in keeping his head in battle. However, it makes him come off as cold and somewhat distant, and it's a bit disconcerting for other people. The whole idea that others can get sad or mad is a bit beyond him, and he's pretty oblivious to others' suffering. Needless to say, he's a bit of an outcast, always preferring the company of Pok?mon to other humans.
Of course, the life of a trainer is a rather social one, and he often finds himself forced into awkward situations with others. He's always polite (as long as you don't piss him off) and makes an effort to be helpful. It isn't his fault he's socially awkward, after all, and he really does try. He isn't one to be all mushy-feely, but if you get to know him, he's incredibly reliable to get you out of a pinch. Loyal to nearly a fault, he'll stand by you to the end.
He's confident in his Pok?mon, and isn't afraid of a bit of pain if it means he can protect those he cares about. Granted, he lacks a healthy sense of fear and tends to bite off more than he can chew, but oh well. The desire to hand out thorough ass-kickings to evil villains is etched permanently into his heart, and he literally cannot stand the sight of an injustice being done. The moment someone so much as bends a rule, he's all over them with cold fury. Xander's a bit obsessive about order, you see; a perfectionist, though he means well.
family;; Brian Wright, father
Kristine Frost, mother
Alexandra Frost, grandmother
history;; Xander, quite frankly, was never meant to exist. Born to teenage parents in Snowpoint City, Sinnoh, growing up was quite a challenge for him. His father was never in the picture, and since his mother was often busy in her attempts to finish highschool, he was raised mainly by his grandmother. She wasn't the kindest of guardians, as she was incredibly harsh and strict, but she took him in and that was what mattered. Raised under her critical eye, he learned to accept nothing but perfection. Rules were sacred, and to break them was to risk horrid punishment. This was all he had ever known, and he had no idea that others might have it a bit different. As he grew and started school for his own, he came to realize that his family wasn't exactly normal. He was tormented constantly, for his height and for his mother's situation. He even went to the length of bleaching his hair in the hope he would look less like his father, but of course that just made him stick out even more. Though he tried everything to hide the fact that it bothered him, of course it did. It was his tenth birthday when everything changed.
It was traditional for a child to receive their first Pok?mon on their tenth birthday, and Xander was no exception. It came as a surprise to him that his uptight grandmother even had a Pok?mon, but sure enough, he received her little Eevee. It was then that he discovered his great passion for battling, and indeed, he seemed to be a natural. It was then that he decided that he didn't need the respect or companionship of his peers. Screw them, he'd become a trainer! His grandmother didn't approve of a journey, of course, but he was never deterred. He trained by himself in the snow, slowly growing stronger, and after years of working with the local ice-types he finally got his grandmother's blessing. He left Sinnoh behind, simply abandoning everything he had ever known, and set out for a fresh start in Vermella.
