apperance;; brief description on their looks - clothes, hair, eyes, height, weight, etc
A tiny girl for her age at a mere 4’4”, Marta is not the sort of girl one would notice twice; she may be considered cute by some (something that annoys her quite a bit; she’s a lady, she’s supposed to be beautiful, not cute) although she is by no means adorable enough to have anyone falling head over heels for her. A fairly rounded face is dominated by large blue eyes – these remain blue no matter what her form – which are almost too large, making her nose and mouth seem small by comparison. She has a dainty, noticeably ladylike figure, although she conceals herself well in a simple, yet multi-layered, summer dress; a light aquamarine colour with an under layer of pink and white, which falls down to around her knees. Red strapped sandals adorn her feet and calves, providing little protection against anything on the ground – if she stepped on something sharp it would go straight through the soles…and probably her foot as well - . Despite the fact that her hair is relatively easy to control, Marta always wears a flat, plain brown hat, decorated with two simple pink badges. She prefers to avoid jewellery entirely.
As a Castform morph, Marta’s appearance changes with the weather conditions she is exposed to. The reaction is instinctive, and not something she can control, and she will only revert back to her normal self if she either enters a building and remains inside it for at least five minutes, or the weather changes. Her appearance does not change to the point that would be completely unrecognisable, yet those minor aesthetic changes – most noticeably, her hair colour – are quite obvious.
Normal: Under normal circumstances, Marta’s hair is perhaps the only unusual thing about her: a stark shade of white, it is the only thing that would stop someone mistaking her for a younger girl, as it ages her considerably. Her skin is a healthy, even pink – she does not tan or burn when exposed to the sun for too longer under normal circumstances – and she is appears to be, for all intents and purposes, a perfectly ordinary girl.
Sunlight: Marta’s skin becomes noticeable tanned when exposed to strong sunlight, going from its usual healthy pink to a light orange, which only darkens over time. Her hair goes from its usual white to a much deeper shade of orange, and has a tendency to curl back in on itself unless she ties it back…which she frequently does, because even after the sunlight has faded, it stays like that unless she comes it out, which is unpleasant, to say the least. She is hot to the touch in this form, and often very sweaty, although fortunately this is just her body getting rid of water, rather than actual sweat…in fact, it’s probably purer than what is was when she drank it. As such, she is usually surrounded by a faint layer of steam.
Rain: Anyone who saw Marta out in the rain might be forgiven for thinking she was cold: her skin takes on a decidedly blue tinge to it reminiscent of a drowned body – or an extremely cold one - and her hair turns a deep shade of cerulean, and gathers in on itself in a single ponytail….thankfully, it doesn’t pile up into the teardrop shape for which Castform are known. Marta is very wet in this form, as though she had either just been swimming, or had been standing out in the rain for hours; water clings to her almost like a second skin.
Hail: Marta’s Hail form is her most exotic, and shows her clearly for what she is: her hair turns a deep shade of aquamarine, and curls in on itself to rest just below her ears, and her skin turns a deep purple. Unsurprisingly, touching Marta in this form is inadvisable; she is colder than any corpse, possessing no body heat whatsoever, and could quite easily freeze any liquid she came into contact with. Nonetheless, her breath comes out of her mouth as steam, giving the impression that she is very, very cold…although her nerve endings are numbed in this form, so she doesn’t actually feel anything at all.
personality;;
Unsurprisingly, Marta’s personality changes with the weather as well. There is something of her Normal personality in her regardless of the weather, but many of her traits are often eclipsed by much more prominent ones that are not present – or are present, only forced down for the sake of propriety – in her default personality. She is somewhat bipolar as a result.
Normal: Under normal circumstances, Marta is a quiet, fairly reserved girl; unwilling to speak her mind, but unwilling to be led around by her nose. She is content to sit back and allow others take the lead in group situations, but only if she likes the direction in which things are progressing. If she doesn’t she’ll speak up, and she demands to be heard; Marta is very, very loud with her protests. She might be shy with her opinions, but she is NOT shy with her complaints. She is not avoidant of others, but she will not seek them out, either. She has something very common in girls her age, and many older: social anxiety. This is due more to a lack of interaction throughout her life than a lack of confidence in herself, though; Marta is surprisingly level-headed in that regard. She knows well her own strengths and limitations, and will not seek to push herself beyond those limits…this makes her something of a cynic and a defeatist, although one could just as easily call that realism…either or.
A practical sort of girl, Marta welcomes those with a similar mindset to her, and tries to tolerate those with a less organised mindset…although unfortunately, she has a short fuse, and can and will erupt with the slightest of provocations. It’s often difficult to figure out what set her off as well, and she is reluctant to talk about it afterwards; ever looking forward, Marta regards the past as irrelevant: thinking about the past won’t change it. It is the present, and how to shape the future, that matter. Very stubborn and set in her ways, Marta is a difficult girl to argue with or persuade: once she’s made up her mind, it may as well be set in stone, and she won’t budge for anything short of a natural disaster…and even then, she’d probably try and stare that down.
Sunlight: Marta is not as cheery as one might think when the Sun is out; in fact, she becomes decidedly cranky. Owing no doubt to the strong sunlight’s effect on her body, she begins to sweat a great deal, and quickly becomes tired and irritable as a result of this; she is never comfortable, and is not particularly good at keeping her temper under control when she’s angry no matter what state she is in, and in this form things only get worse, both for her and the people she comes into contact with. She becomes increasingly snappy as time goes by, and if too much time elapses whilst she is in this form, she becomes extremely reticent, and unwilling to talk at all. Irritation eventually gives way to lethargy, and she will be unwilling to do anything except sit in the shade and wait for the effects to pass. Marta does not enjoy sunshine, and she is very irritable at people who are; she finds their cheerful attitudes quite inconsiderate, and she becomes unusually forward in this state: if she thinks it, she’ll say it, regardless of how blunt and tactless it might be. She becomes quite prissy and sarcastic, and whilst she is apologetic after the fact, there is only so much one can apologise for, and she will frequently cross the threshold. Marta prefers to remain indoors on sunny days, and summer is her least favourite season because of her condition.
Rain: Unlike a lot of people, Marta absolutely LOVES the rain, and it is in her rain form that is at her happiest: indeed, she becomes positively jubilant; her levels of energy are almost indecent. A giggling little girl, she enjoys playing practical jokes on others, or just playing: whereas previously she had no sense of humour at all, now she has a sense of humour that encompasses anything and everything, and her non-stop giggling will no doubt begin to grate on others after a while…which will upset her. Whilst she is difficult to upset, Marta is still highly sensitive to other people’s feelings in this form, and will pick up on displeasure and pounce on it, and will not be satisfied until the person displays an appropriate level of happiness…which often makes them more irritated. Marta degrades into the child she used to be in the rain which, whilst a refreshing change from her normal, uptight personality, will wear thin on other people’s nerves.
Hail: Cold has an interesting effect on Marta, making her act a great deal like a drunkard; she seems to lose what common sense she has, and becomes absolutely oblivious to her surroundings…which, in the snow, can be quite fatal. Cold does not affect her in the same way it does others – she could prance about in it naked with no ill effect – but she could easily become buried under it if caught in the middle of a storm. Frequently, she will experience hallucinations in this state, which can be either friendly (quite often, miniaturized versions of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem will appear on her shoulders, and she will interact with them…much to the confusion of anyone with her, since there is clearly nothing at all on her shoulders) or positively terrifying (normally a herd of pink Phanpy) and, indeed, the results are quite unpredictable. Coming out this state gives Marta an extremely nasty headache comparable to a hangover…which is the last thing she needs, as quite often she will need to sleep afterwards – in her Hail form, Marta possesses a seemingly inexhaustible supply of energy, although she will come down very hard if she exerts herself, as she doesn’t sleep in this form – which is quite impossible to do when it feels like your head is about to explode.

history;;
Born to two ordinary humans in Sinnoh, Marta was a relatively quiet and easy child to handle, being mostly content to do as she was told…mostly. One thing she had inherited from her father was his temper, and her childhood was marked by the more violent temper tantrums she had when she was told to do something she didn’t want to do, or when things didn’t go her way. These were few and far between, however. Her education was relatively normal, as was her home life.
Marta’s Pokemorph origins – which came to her from her grandfather on her mother’s side - did not manifest fully until she was thirteen, with the onset of puberty. It was always apparent that she was acutely sensitive to the weather – she would cry something awful during the summer, yet giggle uncontrollably in the rain – yet it was not made how far this extended until she was thirteen, when she began to change her appearance…the first time being in school, in the middle of summer, which earned her expulsion, for her extremely foul language. It was decided that it would be best if she did not sit regular classes during the summer months or hotter days, which alienated her from the rest of her class, who were convinced that she was diseased, or worse. Pokemorphs were not looked upon favourably in the town, and she received the full brunt of the discrimination.
However, not having to go to school gave her ample time to explore her surroundings. Being able to communicate with Pokémon naturally, she made new friends in them, and they were more than understanding of her condition…although she irritated a fair few of them when the Sun was particularly strong. Whilst her early teenage years were fraught and filled with some very tense moments with her parents and neighbours, they were nonetheless quite enlightening for Marta, as she quickly accepted her circumstances and began to learn more about Pokémon as a result, something she had previously all-but ignored entirely.
At the age of sixteen, after three years of ad-hoc studying, she decided to leave her hometown and become a Pokémon Trainer. With her parent’s permission – helped by the fact that it was the middle of summer – she departed for the Vermella Region, to get her starter Pokémon and see if fortune favoured her…it had to sometime, didn’t it?
